Every year without fail I rush out to buy the Marks And Spencer Beauty Advent Calender when it's released. This year was no different and whilst I unboxed each day and shared with you a first impression or mini review, I thought I'd do a review of the calender and it's contents as a whole.
This year the calender was shaped like a house or shop front and had twenty four individual house shaped boxes, each with a different design or scent on the front. And inside each box was a deluxe miniature or full sized product from each of the brands that the Marks And Spencer Beauty Hall has to offer. I liked how it was laid out but it was quite hard and cumbersome to get a few of the days out because you had to move the front row to reach the back row.
When it comes to the contents of the calender, I think they expanded their range of brands and product types well but there were a couple of products included that I found no use for and thought unnecessary or a let down in terms of the calender as a whole. The beauty blender and the make up bag that was gifted as a finale product were to me a bit of a cop out. There were so many amazing products that built up to Day Twenty-Five and it just seemed like a lacklustre finish from what had been an amazing calender.
Product/brand wise there was a good variety of both including new additions such as Korres, Balance Me and Ameliorate. There were still products from brands that they'd featured in their calender before such as Emma Hardie, Leighton Denny and REN but it was a different product to their previous calenders. This year there seemed to be a lot more skin focused products which for a skincare junkie like me was heaven and I've tried and loved the majority of them. There are certainly a few that I'll be buying in full size when the samples run out, the Alpha H Rose Gold being just one of them.
Overall I loved this calender for the third year in a row. Sure there were days when the boxes held a product I wasn't interested in or happy to receive but when it comes to something like an advent calender there is no way you're going to please everybody. That being said though, there is a good majority of products that I keep by my bedside and use on a regular basis. All in all this has again opened my eyes to brands I'd never tried or heard of before whilst simultaneously allowing me to try products from brands I do love without paying out their higher price tag and losing out if it doesn't work for me. Marks and Spencers is becoming one of the beauty highlights in the high street, going from strength to strength each year and I for one can not wait for the release of their advent calender this year.

Marks And Spencer Beauty Advent Calender Day Twenty Four
Welcome to the Penultimate Day of my 25 Day's Of Beauty Series where I show you what I get in my Marks and Spencer Beauty Advent Calender.
In today's box I recieved a PUR Correcting Illuminate and Glow Primer. This is a correcting primer that works to brighten skin and give it a boost when it's looking a little dull and lifeless. It also contains mushroom silve ear extract to give skin a hydration boost that will slowly release throughout the day to give skin continous hydration.
I tried this this morning when doing my make up and I have to say whilst I liked it, I wasn't blown away by it. It sunk into my skin quicker than other primers I've tried and whilst it added a glow in some places, it also just made me look sweaty in others. This is a nice primer and held my make up on for a whole eight hour shift at work but it didn't blow me away like my Maybelline Primer does.

Marks And Spencer Beauty Advent Calender Day Twenty Three
Welcome back to Day Twenty-Three in my
25 Days of Beauty Series where I show you what I get in my Marks and Spencers
Advent Calender.
In today's box I recieved a tube of the Formula Ultimate Sleep Cream. It's a thick night cream that works as you sleep to make it look like you've had eight hours sleep even if you haven't. This is very similar to the Garnier Miracle Sleeping Cream in that it hydrates, plumps and soothes skin whilst you sleep.
I've been looking forward to trying this product out. I'm a big fan of the Garnier Miracle Sleeping but ever since I've heard about this product, I've wanted to try it. And tonight is the night. It feels a little thicker than the Garnier but still feels very hydrating and soothing on the skin. A full review/comparison of this will be coming after I've given this a full trial.

Marks and Spencer Beauty Advent Calender Day Twenty Two
Welcome back to Day Twenty Two in my
25 Days of Beauty Series where I show you what I get in my Marks and Spencers
Advent Calender.
In today's I recieved a tube of the Autograph Hydrating Confidence Boost Primer. This is a lightweight gel-esque primer that contains Aloe and Cucumber extracts to hydrate skin as well as prolong the wear of make up. It's also hypoallergenice and suitable for all skin types.
I was going to use this when I did my make up today but I compeltely forgot. I did however pop a bit on the back of my hand and I think this will be a product I'll get a lot of use from. It felt very cooling, hydrating and soothing on the back of my hand and left it feeling slightly tacky which means any base products you apply over top will adhere nicely. I'm definitely try this out tomorrow without fail.
Marks And Spencer Beauty Advent Calender Day Twenty One
Welcome back to Day Twenty-One in my
25 Days of Beauty Series where I show you what I get in my Marks and Spencers
Advent Calender.
In yesterday's box I got a rollerball of the Balance Me Rose Otto Facial Oil. It's a lightweight facial oil that is suitable for sensitive skins and helps reduce the appearence of redness. The essential rose oil works to nourish, hydrate, plump and strengthen skin without weighing it down or leaving it feeling greasy.
I've been really looking forward to trying this product out. It's lightweight, easy to apply and nourishes skin without leaving it feeling clogged or greasy to the touch. I've only used it once but I liked it and if I continue to like it then there will definitely be a full review up next month.
