25 Day’s Of Beauty: Day Seven

Welcome back to 25 Day’s Of Beauty. Sorry this post is a little late, I took last night as a self care night as I’ve been suffering with a cold this last week. But better late than never right?

In Day Seven’s box I received a full size Nails Inc nail polish. The polish is called Weekend Millionaire and is red toned shimmer with tiny silver specks of glitter running through it. There is always a Nails Inc polish each year and most of them time they are themed around the festive period.

It’s not the worst item that I’ve received in this Calender this year but it’s probably one I won’t get a lot of wear out of. Not just because I have several other nail polishes that I can wear over the Christmas period but because I don’t like the brush or the formula of this polish. For a big brand like Nails Inc you’d assume they’d put more into their brushes but this one is one of those thin, spindly brushes that takes forever to actually paint your nail. And the formula itself feels very think and would require multiple coats to get any kind of opacity. Nice colour but not for me when I have cheaper nail polishes that have both a better brush and formula.

Marks And Spencer Beauty Advent Calender Days Six And Seven

Welcome back to Days Six and Seven in my 25 Days of Beauty Series where I show you what I get in my Marks and Spencers Advent Calender.

In Day Six's box I recieved a generous sized tube of the Philip Kingsley The Elasticizer. This is another one of those products that features in the calendar every year. And considering I've recieved it for the last two years running, I've never actually tried it. From what I can remember it's a pre shampoo treatment that's supposed to nourish hair and comes in several scents. This is the Pomergranite and Cassis scent but I have recieved the original before as well as another I can't remember.

And in Day Seven's box I recieved a product that is exclusive to this calendar and can't be found anywhere else. It's the Skyn Iceland Berry Lip Fix. And when I say you can't get it anywhere, I mean it. There isn't even any information about this on the M&S website. I do love a good lip balm/lip fix product so I've been wearing this today instead of my normal Palmer's lip balm. It's nice, it hasn't done anything extraordinary to my lips and feels a lot different to the type of lip balms I normally use. I will definitely continue to use this and see if it changes how my lips look and feel over a longer period of time.

Marks and Spencer Beauty Advent Calender Day Seven

Welcome back to Day Seven in my 25 Days of Beauty Series where I show you what I get in my Marks and Spencers Advent Calender.

In today's box I recieved a tube of the Korres Wild Rose Advanced Repair Sleeping Facial. This is the first year that the calender has had a Korres product in it and I have to say I'm pretty impressed by their debut. The Sleeping Facial Cream is a thick night cream packed with Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid and Wild Rose Oil to nourish, hydrate and repair skin as you sleep. It claims to be suitable for all skin types but if you have skin that is very sensitive to fragrance I'd say that this would be a miss product for you. The fragrance isn't ridiculously overpowering and disappears once it's rubbed into skin but it could still cause problems if you have extremely sensitive skin.

I am going to try this when I go to bed tonight and I have high hopes for it. My skin agrees with all of it's ingredients so I can imagine it would do wonders for my skin. The thick balm like texture sounds like it could be very nourishing on the skin; perfect for this time of the year, something my skin is loving right now. The only thing that could ruin this product for me is the fragrance. Dependng on how strong the fragrance of the product, depends on how my skin reacts. A lot of heavily scented products cause my skin to breakout and I have this gut feeling this one is going to do the same. I really hope it doesn't as I think this could be a brilliant product for my skin. I'll make sure to share  whatever the consequences or results of using this product are either here in a post or on my Instagram.

Mark's And Spencer Beauty Advent Calender Day Seven

Welcome back to Day Seven of my Mark's And Spencer Beauty Advent Calender Unboxing.

In today's box I received the Ultrasun SPF30 Facial SPF. This is an anti-ageing SPF that is free from perfume, emulsifiers and preservatives. It's suitable for people with even the most sensitive skin and protects from both UVA and UVB rays.

First Impressions
I actually needed to buy some more SPF so this came at the right time. It's very lightweight in texture and doesn't feel heavy when you apply it to the skin. It didn't leave my skin feeling overly greasy or tacky to the touch and my make up still applied evenly over the top of it. Definitely going to need more than one day to give it a proper a test.

Lip Product Week Day Seven: Gerard Cosmetics Hydro Matte Liquid Lipstick Review

Welcome back to the Final Day of Lip Product Week. For the last post of the week I wanted to try a brand that I'd never tried before that was a little bit more out there. And of course with Gerard Cosmetics being an American Brand it seemed like the perfect brand to try.

I managed to get my hands on their Hydro Matte Liquid Lipstick via Beauty Bay as was very impressed with both pricing and shipping. I chose the shade Immortal which looks like a bright red but is in fact a deeper more brick toned red. This is another of those reds that would look fantastic in a vintage make up look and really pops beautifully on girls of a fairer skintone. As it's a deeper red tone it's also perfect to wear all year round instead of just looking better during certain seasons.

This comes with your standard doe foot applicator which is neither too firm or too flexible. It deposits just enough product on the lips so you're not left with streaky patches or uneven areas. The only problem with the applicator is that you seem to get more along the wand itself than on the actual applicator. This means that a lot of product is going to waste and whilst budget friendly would end up costing more to keep replacing it.

This dries down fairly quickly on the lips and once it's dry then it doesn't budge. However because it's so stay put you can feel it on the lips and it does have the tendency to dry lips out. A bit of lip balm bopped gently in the centre of the lips should make this more comfortable to wear but even then this isn't the best lip product for wearing for long periods of time. If your lips are really dry or in a bad condition when this is first applied then it can flake and peel in patches leaving it looking uneven and streaky. When it comes to reapplication of this product it's best to wipe away as much as possible from what's left and then going in with a fresh coat. It will not only make the colour look fresher it'll also stop it from cracking or peeling from the lips when it dries down. A bio phase eye make up or lip product remover will remove this without leaving lips feeling sore or scrubbed at.

So that's it for Lip Product Week. I hope you all enjoyed it and hopefully it'll be back next year. However keep your eyes peeled the rest of this month as I've dedicated as many posts as possible to lip products. Feel free to leave me product recommendations or your thoughts on lip product week in the comments, I'd love to hear what you think.

Marks and Spencers Beauty Advent Calender Day Seven

Welcome back to Day Seven in my 24 Days of Beauty Series where I show you what I get in my Marks and Spencers Advent Calender.

In today's box I recieved the Rituals Zensation Organic Rice Milk and Cherry Blossom Foaming Shower Gel. It claims to have a unique gel to foam technology but you can find these in pretty much any drugstore these days. I'm not really a big fan of these as I find you usually get more product then you actually want and then it just slips of the skin and it's a waste. However I usually use these kind of products for shaving my legs as they give a good result.

I am looking forward to trying this out though as I'm intrigued by the smell. I love anything with cherry blossom in and am hoping this lives up to my expectations. Of course a full review will be up on the blog at some point.

I'll see you all tomorrow for Day Eight.
