Shop My Stash: Skincare

It's getting to the time of the year where money can be a bit tight and buying all the latest skincare releases is out of the question. So why not delve deep into your stash and see if you can dig out all any old gems you once loved. It's exactly what I've done and I found some oldies but goodies, that I can't understand why I stopped using.

Cleansing wise I have a lot of problems finding a micellar water or cleansing water that doesn't break me out. So whilst I was digging through my stash I found these. These being the Nip and Fab Dragon's Blood Cleansing Pads. Obviously they don't contain Dragon's Blood but they do contain both Salicylic and Hyaluronic Acid which work to both cleanse and moisturise the skin. I like how these work on my skin, they don't break it out, they don't cause any irritation or sensitivity and they cleanse just as well as any micellar water does. Definitely one to try if you struggle to find a good micellar water.

Another product I found out which is perfect to use after cleansing is this B Essence Lotion. This is a milky liquid that you apply after cleansing but before toning. It helps lock moisture into the skin as well as soothe and prep skin for the next steps in your routine. I loved this when I first tried this as it helped with some texture I had on my jawline and with any redness I had. I'm glad I found this when I was shopping my stash, I think this is going to be becoming a staple in my skincare routine.

Another skincare love that I recently rediscovered when I was delving through my stash is this Clearly Youthful Hydrating Day Serum. This contains Lactic, Salicylic and Hyaluronic Acid. The three combined work together not only to lock moisture into the skin but also work to clear away and blemish creating bacteria. It also helps boost cell renewal which makes this the perfect serum to use after using a treatment containing glycolic acid or any kind of exfoliant. I love how soft this makes my skin feel and how even hours after application, my skin still feels hydrated and soft to the touch.

For ages now I've been loving both the Loreal Detox Clay Mask and the Origins Clear Improvement masks and this last product kind of got shoved to the side. However when my bestest Jasmin mentioned it the other day I was inspired to find it out and see if it still works as well as it used to. It's the Superdrug Purifying Face Mask, a mud mask which is aimed at blemish prone or oily skin. I used to use this when I felt my skin needed a good deep cleanse or when I had some blemishes I want to get rid of. However since trying other masks I've completely forgotten about it, however with a busy festive period coming up, I think that this will come in handy a lot to save my skin from a meltdown.

My Olay Total Effects Eye Cream wasn't giving me the results I was looking for so whilst having a look round I found my Olay Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum. I've been using this since I found it and I'm in love all over again. The results of this serum are instantaneous. It's helped depuff my eyes, reduce the look of  my dark circles and has even reduced the look of the dehydration lines I just can't seem to shift from around my eyes. It's pricier than some eye creams on the high street but well worth it's somewhat hefty price tag. It's also helped make the concealer under my eyes look brighter and it actually stays in place for longer now. It's always on offer at Boots or Superdrug so you never really have to pay full price. Definitely one to pick up when you're at an Olay stand next.
